a former freelance theatre scenic artist before transitioning to decorative painting, jonathan has had a brush in his hand his entire adult life.
with over 15 years experience and a wealth of related skills in the performing and visual arts, he brings to his craft an eclecticism born out of an insatiable drive to try out new ideas. while still grounded in a solid base of traditional techniques and media, he is drawn to experimentation in both styles and techniques.
one of the most important lessons jonathan learned during his days in the theatre, was how to cultivate a spirit of collaboration, working closely with other creative individuals of various disciplines to achieve a comprehensive design concept.
it is these elements of innovation and collaboration which he feels set aries art studio apart from so many others in the field of decorative art.

aries art studio was started in 2005 by jonathan hebert in brookline, ma. a short while later aries art studio moved to belmont, ma, and is now housed in a spacious studio suite where we bring furniture pieces and other movable items to refinish, and design ideas are developed for our clientele.
since the beginning, jonathan has worked hard to build aries art studio into one of the premiere decorative paint studios in new england, providing distinctive high-quality decorative finishes in some of the finest homes in the region.
we now work alongside world-class designers, decorators, and architects, as well as collaborating directly with homeowners, to produce custom painted wall finishes, painted furniture, fine art, and a wide range of decorative items for the home.
